Background: Adolescence is one of the most sensitive and critical periods in the development of every human being.
Purpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the structural model of bullying based on unpleasant childhood experiences, resilience and self-compassion with the mediator role of emotional self-regulation in delinquent teenagers.
Method: The current research was applied in terms of purpose and in terms of the method of data collection, it was descriptive-correlation type, using the method of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study included all juvenile delinquents, boys and girls aged 14 to 18, who were kept in the correctional centers of Tehran province in 1400. From among the mentioned statistical population, 350 people were selected by available sampling method and entered the research as a sample group. The tools used in this research include the bullying questionnaire (Ily Noiz, 2001), the child abuse scale (Mohammadkhani et al., 2011), the Connor Davidson resilience questionnaire (2003), the self-compassion scale (Neff, 2003), and the emotional styles questionnaire (Hoffman and Kashdan, 2010). ) was Finally, data analysis was done by path analysis method. All analyzes were done using SPSS26 and AMOS24 software. Bootstrap method was also used to analyze mediating relationships.
Findings: The findings of the present study showed that there is a relationship between unpleasant childhood experiences, resilience, self-compassion and emotional self-regulation with bullying (P<0.001); Also, emotional self-regulation plays a mediating role in the relationship between resilience and bullying, as well as self-compassion and bullying (P<0.001).
Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, it is suggested that health therapists pay attention to the findings of this research and the discussion of self-compassion, resilience and self-regulation of emotions in order to enrich their diagnostic formulation in the conditions of bullying behaviors in delinquent teenagers, and if they find the root in it, from the related interventions. take psychological advantage in this regard.
