Background and Aim: In the realm of pediatric nursing, the cultivation of essential skills such as effective communication, empathy, and robust teamwork is paramount for optimal child care. This study aimed to identify and validate the core components and specific indicators necessary for developing a comprehensive teamwork skills curriculum tailored for pediatric nursing students.Methods: A mixed-methods research approach was employed, integrating qualitative thematic analysis with quantitative survey methods. Initially, relevant components and indicators were identified through an extensive literature review and semi-structured interviews with 12 participants (comprising 6 curriculum specialists and 6 nursing instructors), selected via purposeful criterion sampling. Subsequently, these identified elements were validated through a questionnaire administered to a census sample of 121 participants (44 curriculum specialists and 77 nursing instructors). The content validity was confirmed through expert review, and the reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach’s alpha (r > 0.92). Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis.Results: The analysis revealed that out of an initial pool of 79 indicators—categorized under objectives, content, teaching-learning methods, and assessment—a refined set of 62 indicators were confirmed as essential within the developed model. This empirically validated model is expected to significantly contribute to the enhancement of teamwork skills among pediatric nursing students.Conclusion: The validated teamwork skills curriculum model, underpinned by 62 confirmed indicators, provides a structured and evidence-based framework for educational institutions. Its implementation is anticipated to foster crucial teamwork competencies in pediatric nursing students, thereby improving their preparedness for collaborative healthcare environments and ultimately enhancing the quality of care for children.
