The purpose of the present study was to conduct a comparative analysis of childrens sport in Iran and selected countries. This research is a comparative study with a qualitative approach, and the data were collected from documents and records, guidelines, articles, research projects, and internet-based resources related to childrens sport in the selected countries. The data were analyzed using George Beredays comparative model through four stages: description, interpretation, juxtaposition, and comparison. After data collection and analysis, the identified actions related to childrens sport in the countries under study were classified into seven areas: relevant organizations, the existence of upstream policy documents, governance structure, policy objectives, sport facilities, human resources, and monitoring and evaluation. The findings of the present study indicate that the childrens sport system in the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to the selected countries, faces fundamental challenges in the areas of multi-sectoral governance, institutional coordination, utilization of technology, development of specialized human resources, and the monitoring and evaluation system. These results can be utilized by responsible and policy-making institutions in the field of childrens sport, and managers of these organizations can draw on the experiences of the countries examined in the present study, as well as leading countries in childrens sport, and implement them in their future programs.
