Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate the parenting components of improving children's adaptability: a qualitative research sample. The setting of this study was all texts in the field of childhood adaptability. The method of selecting texts was purposefully among the texts on childhood adaptability within the period (2013-2022) based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The criterion for the number of texts was based on the saturation principle. The data collection method was a line-by-line study of the texts, based on questions related to the parenting components of improving children's adaptability. The data obtained from the review of the texts were analyzed using the conventional content analysis method of Heish and Shannon (2005). The content analysis of the texts on child adaptability showed that for child adaptability parenting, three concepts can be considered, which are: 1) The goal of parenting is to improve adaptability with the sub-concepts of preparing the child to deal with unexpected and difficult events, coping with new conditions, and going through life transitions; 2) The necessity of parenting is to improve adaptability with the sub-concepts of accepting internal psychological events, accepting external events, cognitive flexibility, increasing efficiency and success in life and future work; 3) The axes of improving educational adaptability with the sub-concepts of emotional adaptability, behavioral adaptability, and thinking adaptability. According to these results, it can be said that in the parenting package for improving adaptability, three steps of awareness and skill should be considered: the goal of this type of parenting style, the necessity of such parenting, and finally the techniques and skills of this type of parenting should be taught.
