Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between the behavioral problems of elementary students with the components of empathy and coping strategies from the teachers' point of view. The current research was of applied purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of methodology. The statistical population of the research was made up of all fifth and sixth grade students (boys and girls) of Yasouj city (including 1900 students) in the academic year 1402-1401 along with their teachers.320 primary school students of Yasouj city and their teachers (80 teachers) were selected and studied from among the statistical population by multi-stage cluster random sampling method and based on Mogan table. Achenbach's Behavioral Problems Questionnaire (CBCL-teacher response), Andler and Parker's coping styles (1990) and Jolliffe and Farrington's (2006) empathy were used to collect data. After collecting and extracting data, participants' scores were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and multivariate regression. The research findings showed that there is a significant negative relationship between empathy and its components (emotional and cognitive) and students' behavioral problems (p<0.01).There is a significant positive correlation between the subscales of avoidance and emotion-oriented coping strategies with students' behavioral problems (p<0.05) and there is a significant negative correlation between the subscales of problem-oriented coping strategies with students' behavioral problems (p<0.05). 05). Also, the results of the regression analysis showed that coping strategies with a beta coefficient of 0.13 (positively) and empathy with a beta coefficient of -0.22 (negatively) could predict behavioral problems in elementary school students.
