Abstract
The aim of this research was the effectiveness of education based on schema therapy on dysfunctional Attitude and spiritual happiness of people with visual impairment. It was a semi-experimental research design of pre-test-post-test and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of this research included people with visual impairments of Tehran RP Center who had rehabilitation records. The sample size includes 40 people (20 people in the experimental group and 20 people in the control group) from the statistical population selected by purposeful sampling and placed in the control and experimental groups. For the experimental group, training based on schema therapy was implemented, while the control group did not receive training. The research tools included the Dysfunctional attitudes scale (Weissman & Beck, 1978) and the spiritual happiness questionnaire (Afrooz, 2015). The data was analyzed using the analysis of variance test with repeated measurements. The results showed that training based on schema therapy had a significant effect on improving dysfunctional attitudes and spiritual happiness in the post-exam and follow-up stages (P<0.01). The findings of this research provide useful information related to schema therapy-based training, and counselors and psychologists can use this intervention to improve dysfunctional attitudes and spiritual happiness of visually impaired people.
