Abstract
Introduction: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an obsessive thought or obsessive action. Therefore, due to the perfectionism that they have in doing their obsessive tasks, patients cannot give proper answers to their thoughts in the way they process their metacognition, and they are forced to do repetitive actions, and they cause a lot of damage to their family, job, and social relationships and functions.

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between metacognitive and perfectionist beliefs and obsessions in people with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Method: The current research is descriptive and correlational. The sample of the research was all the people suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder, referring to Tadbir Psychological Service Center, whose number was 71 people. The subjects responded to the questionnaires of Jesson and Rachman 1977, metacognitive beliefs of Wells (2000) and perfectionism of Najarian, Attari and Zargar (2017) with appropriate validity. The resulting data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation coefficient and multivariate regression analysis step by step with SPSS software.

Findings: The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the total score of metacognitive beliefs and the dimensions of positive beliefs about worry, uncontrollability and risk, weak cognitive confidence, the need to control thoughts and cognitive self-awareness, and perfectionism with obsession (05/ 0>p). In other words, we conclude that the higher the metacognitive beliefs, the higher the obsession in people with OCD.
