A new approach to children's education quarterly

Investigating the role of study in the professional development of primary school teachers in the eyes of Talesh teachers

Abstract
The present article examines the relationship between study and professional development of primary school teachers in Talesh city. This applied research and its method are descriptive correlations. The statistical population of this study included all primary school teachers in Talesh city, 768 people. Therefore, a group of 74 teachers was randomly selected and a questionnaire was distributed among them. In the selection of teachers, stratified random sampling method was used in proportion to the volume. In this study, the researcher developed a professional development questionnaire in 23 questions in the form of five components (classroom management, ability to communicate with students, curriculum planning, organizational commitment and educational ICT) with a five-point Likert scale (I totally agree ) used. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was estimated through Cronbach's alpha = 0.89, which was significant. Content validity was used to measure the validity of the questionnaires. The analysis of the results of this study was performed using Spss statistical software at both descriptive and inferential levels. Findings showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between academic studies and components of professional development.
